#SPRINGWATCH – MOTHER NATURE KNOWS BEST

Springtime!  A magical time full of fresh beginnings and new life.  Meadows and woodlands teeming with spring flowers.  Fields filled with playful lambs and cute calves.

I don’t think there are many creatures whose young are not simply adorable – babies are just so lovable and endearing. 

As I was taking my walk the other morning I came across this little fellow.  He was so sweet I just had to stop and admire him.  So new, and yet already exploring the world just yards from his mum.

As I watched, the mare moved towards him protectively and it was plain to see, from the way she nuzzled up to him, the love she had for her foal.

Mother nature knows exactly what she is doing, of course.  The young, of all species, are designed to be irresistible.  Their big eyes melting our hearts and stirring up our nurturing instincts.  And every mother thinking her own baby is the most beautiful thing she has ever seen.

And that’s exactly how it should be.
